What type of security or collateral do I require to apply for an agricultural loan?
Lending to the agricultural market is more than just security lending. Although security is important and has a direct impact on the price of finance, the commercial viability and risks around cash flow are also considered.

What types of agricultural enterprises does Standard Bank Group fund?
We fund the entire value chain from input suppliers, primary producers, storage, logistics and processors.

What type of information must I supply to apply for a loan?
This is dependent on the type of loan you that you are applying for and where you are in the value chain e.g. primary producers might be asked to supply confirmation of historic production, financial information and cash flow forecasts.

Who may apply for an agricultural loan?
Any legal person/entity can apply if they are able to meet the bank's loan criteria.

Does Standard Bank Group provide working capital loans to small scale growers?
Under the AGRA initiative, we may provide working capital loans to special purpose vehicles, like co-operatives, that may then on lend to their small scale growers. Standard Bank does not finance subsistence farmers.

Will Standard Bank Group finance 100% of my loan requirements or will I be expected to make a contribution and if so how much?
We prefer that you carry some responsibility. The percentage of your equity contribution is looked at on a case by case basis.
